GARY'S NEXT PARTY HOME PAGE

=================================================================================

Hi everyone,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The most common comment I've heard is that it was the best one yet. I partially agree. It's hard to beat some of those boat parties! Thanks to Rick Hudella for these pictures. I'll post more later. Tentatively, the next party will be on the St Croix River on June 25, 2005. It will be a collaborative effort between myself, David Reker, and many sponsors. Check back later for more information.

Thanks again,

Gary

Fifth Annual "Spring Party"

Friday, March 4, 2005

Bayview Event Center, Excelsior, MN

Hi everyone,

My next party will be at the Bayview Event Center on Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior at 687 Excelsior Blvd. Click here for a map. It will be on Friday, March 4, 2005. While it is my actual birthday, it's just an excuse to have another party (like I need one, right?). Please don't bring me any presents. Just come with your friends and have a great time. Hanging out with all my friends is present enough. The band will be "Belladiva", the twin cities' hottest show band, (formerly known as the "Sugar Divas"). The cover charge will be $10 to help cover expenses and dressy attire is recommended again. The door opens at 8:00 P.M. and closes at 1:00 A.M. The band starts at 9:00.

They have a restaurant that opens at 4:00 P.M. for anyone that wants to get there early and have dinner.

My friend Kevin at "A Elegant Limousine" says that he has a limo available to anyone that wants a ride to and from the party. You can check with him to find out the cost. His number is 612-867-5466. Make sure to mention "GarysNextParty" to get the best rate.

I just got word that another stretch limo is available for the same type of duty. This one is starting out in Prior Lake so anyone wishing to ride from the south can call Gary (not me) at 612-750-1489.

See you there,

Gary                                                                 Sign Guestbook

P.S. My friend Dave is having a St. Croix River party in June a week before my first party of the summer. You can get more information at his website http://christmasinjune.50megs.com/. It should be fun!

I want to thank everyone that came out to play on a miserable cold and windy night. I believe everyone had a good time, we gave away some prizes, but most of all we donated a LOT of toys to "Toys for Tots" so I would say it was a success. A few people remarked that the band didn't play enough dance music. I agree and have moved to improve that aspect  at the next party. Here are some of the pictures. If you have some more, please send them to me. I just added my Santa Cam video on 1/3/05.

Thanks again,

11/03/04

Hi everyone,

                               I'M BACK!

I suppose that most of you thought that I had fallen off the edge of the earth, but I've been extremely busy. So much so that I didn't even realize that this website was down. Between prepping and selling my house on Vicksburg, buying another place, moving a BIG house full of crap, and working out of town 50% of the time, I've been off of the radar screen for the last two months. Thankfully, things are getting back to normal for me and consequently I've planned the next Christmas party. It will be at the "Mansion" at 2540 Park Ave So. or Park and 26th in south Minneapolis on Saturday, 12/18/04. Back from Motown by popular demand will be "T-Bone" Frierson from the Grammy Award winning "Sounds of Blackness" and his band "Higher Mind". Again, it will be a charity event and I'm asking everyone to bring at least one new and unopened toy. Since it is in such a ritzy venue, I thought it would be nice to also make it a "dress to impress" affair. I will need some volunteers (some of which actually get paid - for those unemployed or under-employed). I'll have more information later.

Later,

Gary

8/16/04

Hi everyone,

Well, all I can say is that the weatherman screwed up and the weather SUCKED!! but we still had a good time as you can see by the pictures. The crowd was about one fifth of what I expected because this time the forecast was great and the actual weather was bad. Oh well. The people that DID come CAME TO PARTY! I know a lot of you took pictures so if you would be so kind as to send them to me, I'll post them here.

Someone told me that Channel 9 did a segment on our party. If anyone can verify that, please let me know. I'll post more pictures and comments later.

Thanks to all,

Gary

8/28/04

I've decided to use the auction format to sell my house in Plymouth. I have a full description in my eBay ad. I also have a virtual tour and a flyer

The auction will be on Wednesday evening, September 8, 2004 at 6:00 P.M. I'm offering a $2500 bird dog fee to anyone bringing the winning bidder in. In addition, realtors that bring in the winning bidder will receive a 2.7% commission. Both must register their bidder at least 48 hours before the auction. You can register by email or by phone. Make sure that your receive an email confirmation.

I will have an open bar and food. Everyone is welcome to come and join in on the fun and excitement that auctions bring. All I ask is that if you aren't a serious buyer, at least LOOK like one! Also, get a bidding number. Be careful not to scratch your nose during the bidding or the auctioneer might take that as a million dollar bid!

"The party last August was incredable, I describe it as "the second best
party I've EVER been to". I talked about for weeks, months, hell, I am
still talking about it."

"...the one last August was more fun than a person should have in a life time... Thanks for hosting such an awesome time."

"love your parties ... looking forward to the next one!"

"Gary, Im originally from Vienna, Austria and Ive been to many wild parties. Yours was the best so far. Thanks also to XXX who told me about your parties. I would love to come again."

"Thanks for the boat party on the 26th, that was a blast."

"I was at the Hudson party! Ive got some great pics of naked XXXXXXXX. I was wondering where you can post those up. XXX      (I won't post naked pictures - GRC)

"Thanks for the wonderful time this past weekend. I had a blast. Cant wait for the next one!!"

"Hey gary, I was there yesterday... we had a great time!! Thanks!"

"Gary, as always had a great time at the boat party.."

"My wife and I had a great time at your party!  Thanks again for organizing such a great event!"

Hi everyone,

I want to thank everyone that showed up for the last party to make it another success even though the weather forecast wasn't that good. Since I was late getting there myself, I especially want to thank my friends Steve Truen (shuttle boat), Steve Phillips (beer), Bob MacDonald (beer, tie-up organizer), John Mickelson (organizer, promoter), Dewayne Johnson (coconut tops), Todd (46' Pacemaker for band stage) and everyone else for getting things ready in my absence. They didn't even need me!

We estimated the turnout at around 80 boats which is about double what I expected because of the weather. I should say that the weather was actually good but the weather FORECAST wasn't.

I didn't get much time to go out and promote this party like I did the other ones. About a month before, I went out to Lake Minnetonka with some friends  on a promotional tour. We had a hard time finding anyone that didn't already know about it. I guess this website is really working! Click here for the pictures as they come in. If you have some pictures that you want to share, please send them to me and I'll post them here.

Several people wanted to make a donation to Josh Huesman (read about him further down this page). Click here to find out where to send your donations.

Bruce Ehlers has a website now whereby we can all band together and have an input into the changes that may or may not be made in the management of the St. Croix River. "We can't allow a small vocal minority to make NEW rules for an apathetic silent majority." I encourage everyone to sign up on his website so that your voice can be heard.

For those of you that are "garysnextparty.com" virgins, here are some of the details:

It is a "tie up" party which means that you can't walk or drive there, although you could swim to it.  We will have a shuttle boat to get all you land lubbers to the party.  CLICK HERE for a map.  We will have free keg beer (BYOB), some food (anyone that wants to bring some will be greatly appreciated), and free live music.  In fact, everything is free.  The party starts at noon and officially goes until 10 P.M. although a lot of party animals will continue until noon the next day and beyond.  The band plays from 5-9.  Anyone that gets too inebriated will have no problem finding a boat to crash on for a while.  My boat (TONKA TOY II) is available for one.  Once you get to the party, you are welcome to walk from boat to boat and mingle with everyone.  The boats in the "nucleus" of the party will welcome strangers coming on their boats but PLEASE be respectful of other people's property.

I will need lots of volunteers.  Anyone interested in helping out for a few hours, CLICK HERE.  If anyone is interested in being a sponsor, CLICK HERE for more information. The sponsors will be distributing red, white, and blue mardi gras beads and coconut and sea shell bikini tops for the ladies (and any guys that want them - I have to be politically responsible).  Any boaters that want to be part of the "nucleus", CLICK HERE for instructions.

Non-boaters don't forget to tip Steve, your shuttle driver. He works tirelessly to bring you to and from the party. He uses his own pontoon boat and spends his own money for expenses. It would be hard to have parties like this without people like him.

Thanks,

Gary

P.S.  Don't forget to sign in on my guestbook to get email notifications of upcoming parties.       Also, don't forget to view the pictures from previous parties. The links are on the lower left hand sign of this page.

                         Lake Havasu Spring Break 04

Hi everyone,

Well, we didn't get to meet any partyboating.com-ers but we did meet a lot of nice people. We ended up renting a couple of jet skis and after driving up and down the Colorado River most of the day, we landed in the cove where everyone parties. If anyone  knows the name of that cove, please let me know. It was a lot of fun and a gorgeous setting, but I can't help but think it would have been a lot better had the water patrol not been a permanent fixture there. Let's be thankful that the Minnesota and Wisconsin water patrol doesn't think it's necessary to do the same. If anyone's interested in viewing the pictures, just click on the picture below.

Hi everyone,

Well, the 3rd annual Christmas party was another success. I've posted some pictures in the usual spot lower on this page. If you have some pictures that you want to share with everyone, please email or mail them to me. The toys and food went to the Salvation Army. Thanks to everyone,

re: 8.23.03 "Pirates of the St Croix" party

Hi everyone,

Well, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, they just keep getting bigger and better.  We had a hard count from a reliable source of 94+ boats.  A few people estimated the crowd at over 100 boats.  The weather was great, the beer was cold, and the music was awesome, but the people there were the best.  I left my camera at home because you guys take such good pictures that I felt that I didn't need it.  The only problem is that no one is sending them in to me.  If you have some pictures please send them to me so I can publish them for everyone to see.

I'll keep posting current info about Josh right here as I get it.

So long for now,

Gary

=================================================================================

On July 12, 30 year old Josh Huesmann was on his way to my last party when he stopped just north of the railroad bridge to go swimming.  He dove into the river head first not knowing that the water was only 2 feet deep.  He broke his spinal cord and, needless to say, is in bad shape.  I thought we could dedicate this party to him.  Please CLICK HERE to learn more about this unfortunate accident and how we can all help.  We all have problems of varying magnitudes but they sure seem trivial when you here about something like this.

Some comments about the 7/12/03 party:

7/12/03   gary, excellent party on Saturday. I am a former boater from MTKA. I moved my boat down two years ago. Man what a difference. Your partys ROCK!

"G, that party was off the hook!" - T-BONE

July 17, 2003

Hi everyone,

I guess the above captions say it all.  These are just some of the gracious comments that I have received since the party.  I'll have more of my comments and thanks for everyone that made this party a success when I get back into town.  Right now, I'm going to publish as many pics as I have time for.  If any of you have any pics or videos ( I know you do) that you want me to publish (or not publish), please send them to me.  Don't worry, I won't publish any x-rated pics.  You can go elsewhere for that.

A lot of people have been asking me to do another one this year.  I wasn't going to but I think it will go on whether I want to or not, so I might as well do it.  The date will be Aug. 23, 2003.  I've already cleared the band for that date.

I'm sorry the webcast didn't work.  Actually, it worked, then it didn't, then it did, then it didn't.  I found myself working on it DURING the party.  Finally I said, xxxx it, I'm going to party!!!  My long lost friend Bruce P. assures me that he'll get it working for the next one.  Assuming that it works OK, you can say "HI" to a mother in Maui, a lover in Louisville, or a son in Singapore.  If you can't make it to the party, you can log on to this website for instructions to get to the webcast.

Added 7/20/03 at 10:00 P.M.:

Some people arrived late and couldn't get a shuttle. The shuttle drivers are volunteering their time and boats.  They don't want to work ALL day and when things slow down, they want to join the party and rightfully so.  I think the next party will have shuttle service from noon to 6:00 and again from 9:30 until everyone is on shore that's going ashore.  Between 6:00 and 9:30, the shuttle service will be spotty at best.  If you arrive during that time, you have a few options.  You could try calling me, but by that time I've probably thrown my phone into the river.  You could ask another boater to give you a ride.  Maybe an invitation to the party would help; or slip them a fin or two.  You could swim there.  I have a friend that couldn't wait any longer so he swam to the party.  I'll call him T. Ziegler.  No, that's too obvious.  Let's call him Tim Z.  Anyway,  there is at least one more option and it comes with a true little story.  I was scanning the crowd during the party when I saw some flashing lights.  It was the Sheriff pulling up.  I said to myself 'Oh great, they finally found something to bust me for!'.  On closer inspection, I saw some people getting out of his boat, they shook hands, and everyone was smiling.  I thought 'What's wrong with this picture'.  Then I realized that THE SHERIFF WAS SHUTTLING PEOPLE TO THE PARTY!.  Now that's public service with a capital P.  I'll bet you won't see that on Lake Minnetonka!.  My hat goes off the the Wisconsin water patrol.
